Poldark S4 Preview Screening in Chattanooga

WTCI-PBS are showing the first episode of Poldark series four at a free screening in Chattanooga, TN, USA.

The preview is on Thursday 13 September, 6.00 to 7.30 pm EDT at The Palace Theater, Georgia Avenue.

Poldark S4 Preview Screening in Utah

KUED are screening the first episode of Poldark Series 4 in Salt Lake City. The screening will be at The Broadway Cinema on 12 September, 7-9 pm. There will also be competitions and a chance to have you pic taken with Ross and Demelza cutouts.   Seating is limited so RSVP tp [email protected] by Monday 10 September if you'd like to book a place.

US fans!  Get in the mood for season two with Inside Poldark, a PBS special!

PBS says:
'Relive the thrilling first season of the swashbuckling romantic series with hints of what’s to come for the dashing Captain Ross Poldark. Featuring cast and creator interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and the spectacular Cornish coastline.'

4 Million Watched US Premiere of Poldark



At last we have some viewing figures for Poldark on PBS Masterpiece.

The premiere drew more than 4 million viewers in the US before other platforms were added reports Oregon Live.  To give a comparison Wolf Hall, which premiered in Aprilattracted 4.4 million viewers including catchup TV. Speaking at the TV Critics Summer TV Press Tour, Masterpiece executive producer Rebecca Eaton said that Poldark could run for 'years and years'  

Rebecca Eaton also announced that Poldark  was renewed for a second season on Masterpiece.

'Poldark' to be Shown on Xfinity

PBS, the broadcaster airing Poldark in the U.S., have announced a new deal with Comcast which means Poldark will be shown on Xfinity on Demand. Episodes will be available shortly after being shown on PBS Masterpiece.

Other programmes in the deal include Wolf Hall, Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey and Grantchester reports Telecompaper.

Preview Screening of 'Poldark' in Nashville

A preview screening of Poldark is to be shown in Nashville, US, ten days before it airs on Nashville Public Television Masterpiece.

The screening will be at the Franklin Theatre on Thursday 11 June at 7pm. Entrance is free but seats should be booked in advance. Booking opens on May 20th at 8 am.

Poldark airs on Masterpiece in seven episodes starting 21 June, 2015.  The finale on 2 August will be a two hour long double episode from 9-11 pm ET.

Poldark is set in Cornwall in the late eighteenth century, where battle scarred Ross Poldark returns home from war to find his country facing hard times and the life he once knew, gone forever. The original series with Robin Ellis, was a big hit on Masterpiece in the 1970s. The new series stars Aidan Turner (The Hobbit) as Ross Poldark and Eleanor Tomlinson(The White Queen) as Demelza and is adapted from the books by Winston Graham.

Poldark to Air in US 2015

Poldark is to air in the US in 2015. It will be shown on Masterpiece on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).

The original series of Poldark with Robin Ellis was shown on Masterpiece in the 1970s and was a big hit. The new series stars Aidan Turner (The Hobbit) as Ross Poldark and Eleanor Tomlinson (The White Queen) as Demelza and is adapted from the books by Winston Graham.

Masterpiece's Executive Producer Rebecca Eaton announced the return of Poldark at the PBS Annual Meeting on 14 May, 2014. She said, "I'm very proud to say that after 44 years, MASTERPIECE (sic) continues to make news, win awards, and attract new audiences, How many other television series have the great good fortune to make that claim?"
